Three Ideas to Inspire Your Style This Week
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"Are you scared of it or don't like it? Two different things."

More wisdom from Stacy London. We often reject trying new clothes because we're unsure how they'll suit us, but instead of flat out resisting, take a look at why you're resisting it. A dislike for cut, color, texture or material is one thing. A fear of stepping into the unknown is another. But like Stacy, I'm your safety net when you want to push your boundaries, try something new, and perhaps see yourself differently.

FALL/WINTER 2025 TRENDS
It's that time again! We're on the cusp of the big change in weather, which - if you've been to any stores recently - means the Fall/Winter collections are here! I appreciate it was 90 earlier this week, but let's ignore that and focus on what you'll find now and in the coming months, especially if you're looking to try something new!
KEY COLORS OF FALL 2025:
Black: Present in 60% of runway looks, mixed with neutrals, earthy tones, and bold accents.
Chocolate brown: The season's second neutral, versatile from head-to-toe looks to color combinations with mustard yellow and striking oranges
Red: From bright mood-boosting shades to rich burgundies, paired with classic black/white or adventurous blues and purples
Light pink: From couture statements to muted suit pairings with neon green accents
Yellow-green (Chartreuse/Lime): The season’s surprise color, used boldly (e.g., Saint Laurent) and subtly in buttery greens
Bold primary colors: Blue, yellow, and red in bold, confident runway combinations.
MAJOR CLOTHING TRENDS:
High necklines: Dramatic collars and turtlenecks add elegance and layering possibilities
Animal prints: Leopard and zebra reimagined with textures like fur and lace, from statement looks to accents
Leather evolution: Creative color combinations, texture mixing, and innovative styling beyond traditional black pieces
Corp Core reimagined: Power dressing with 80s flair—oversized blazers, embellished suiting, and creative layering
Fringes everywhere: From subtle trims to full fringe dresses, spanning clothing and accessories.
Bold silhouettes: From subtle trims to full fringe dresses, spanning clothing and accessories.
Fur revival: Faux fur dominating, styled from casual denim to formal evening wear.
Sheer elements: Continuation of lingerie-inspired trend with cutouts, see-through fabrics, and strategic layering
KEY STRATEGIC INSIGHTS:
Fall 2025 can be summarized as bold, playful, and intentional.
Consider highlighting your personality by incorporating animal prints, bold colors, or statement pieces.
Texture mixing is crucial - combine leather with fur, sheer with structured, prints with solids.
Layering and belting are essential styling techniques across multiple trends.
Vintage pieces are particularly relevant this season with strong 80s/90s influences.
I hope you have fun with one or several of these trends! Take a look in your closet for what you already have or contact me to learn how to incorporate them into your wardrobe.

Current trends are not confined to just the runway, of course! I recently uploaded three Fall/Winter 25 Lookbooks which are filled with delicious new ideas for the upcoming months. I love that they take previous trends into account so you're not replacing everything, just trying new combinations with pieces you might already have. This interplay between trends and past purchases lets you stay current while still mindful of your budget.

INSPIRATION TIP
I look for style inspiration in everything, and one place I don't usually find it is in a store's catalog! Usually it's just a load of photos of individual pieces on inconsistent backgrounds with the style number, price, or maybe a lay-flat picture with other items in their collection, and there's not much guidance on how to make outfits, which is the key to style.
The latest Macy's catalog just landed in my mailbox and I have to admit - I'm impressed! They've laid it out in more of a magazine style, with a table of contents, sidebars with style advice and tips, and ideas on how to put together outfits. It's not overwhelming, it shows upcoming trends with inspirational, editorial images, and makes you want to try new things.
It's a lot more palatable than being presented with all of this season's pieces, so if you've received it, don't just chuck it away. Browse through it as a resource and reference guide.
3 WAYS TO WEAR IT: Navy Cardigan
I'm not quite ready to shift into the Fall/Winter looks, but this little navy cardigan is a staple in my layering for the changing weather. It's a 3/4 sleeve cotton with a single button, so it's loose and unstructured, which is a nice complementary piece to soften an outfit. It looks good with shirt hems peeking out from underneath as well as longer sleeves.
It's casual enough to add to a simple white tank and olive denim skirt, especially when paired with a hat and sandals.
It's the perfect addition to the sleeveless dress in a lighter blue, covering my shoulders when the evening cools off.
For the cooler days, I add a long sleeve striped tee underneath and let the sleeves pop out the end, breaking up the solid color.
