Finding Your Style A Self-guided Course Ask yourself... Do you struggle to get dressed every day? Do you have a full closet but nothing to wear? Are you having a life-renaissance and want to ramp up your style? Do you want to try to figure this out on your own? Are you confused about where to start? If you answered YES to any of these questions, you're in the right place! It's your time to find your personal style! Even though you get dressed every day, you might struggle with knowing what to wear, how to put outfits together, what clothes look best on you, or even where to find those clothes. It's confusing, and it's definitely a frustrating and tiring way to start your day. In a closet overflowing with memories, investments, and former selves, where do you even start? Are your closest family and friends afraid that you'll change and they won't recognize the you they've always known? But maybe change is what you want, and in order to step into the future self that you're becoming, you sometimes have to shed what's on the outside to better reflect what's already on the inside. And literally changing your outward appearance is the first step toward revealing the real you! If you're ready to greet the future with style and confidence but aren't sure about working with a personal stylist, this course was created just for you. It will walk you through how to discover and create your own personal style, done at your own pace and on your own terms. No fear, though - I'll be right by your side the whole way, I promise! During this course, we will dive into the mindset of becoming your own personal stylist. We’ll cover the foundations of fashion, how to support yourself through this process, how to become an expert at styling yourself, and how to show up for yourself in both your fashion choices and your life. Tailoring isn't just about getting a custom suit made or altering your wedding dress. It's also about fitting off-the-rack clothes to your specific shape. Tailoring takes a good piece and makes it fabulous, and can save a piece that needs repair. To get the most from tailoring: It's a relationship! Start off with smaller, minor alterations to see how they work before you give them a complex piece. Ask for a cost estimate before you go in for your fitting. Wear the proper undergarments or shoes at your fitting, and take any accessories that need to be considered. Be patient and plan ahead. They need time to do the job properly, plus seasonal demand around weddings, prom, and the holidays slow their turnaround times. Find a specialist if your alterations are complex, like beading or silk. Try your items on when you pick them up to make sure they don't need any further alterations. Learn how to do basic repairs (buttons and small tears especially!) that don't need a tailor.
