Your wardrobe styling appointment is even easier with a little prep! We want your appointment to be fun and comfortable, so here's a quick overview of the process and things you can do to get the most out of it. I truly want your appointment to be fun and comfortable! We'll chat beforehand so you'll have an idea of what to expect, but here's a quick overview of the process and things you can do to get the most out of it. We start by setting up a consultation, either just a quick 15 minutes to sort out details (because you're so ready already!) or 30 minutes to learn more about the experience. Once we've chatted about how to elevate your wardrobe, we'll find a time that you can set aside 3-4 hours so we can work effectively in one appointment. I'll then send you a style assessment for you to fill out so we have some clear ideas of where you are in your style journey and what your goals are. In-Home Appointments: I'll come to your house at your appointment time, and I'll bring a freestanding clothing rail to help see pieces more clearly, as well as a full length mirror if needed. We'll put clothing into categories, removing items that have served their purpose, and tidying up the ones you'll keep. We'll talk about why pieces work for you, your body shape, and your style. If we’re shopping your closet, you'll try on outfits as we go (please wear good undergarments and clothes you can easily get in and out of )and I'll take pictures of the ones you want to remember. I'll send you a link to a digital wardrobe app afterwards with the photos. I also have a tool kit that will help style pieces so you can see what something might look like with a bit of alteration. I will be touching you to adjust pieces (I'll warn you if my fingers are cold!) but if you prefer that I don't, just let me know. When we're done, you'll have a tidy closet plus piles for anything that need mending or selling. I'll remove all the items for donation because you agree that it's time to let that sweater from 1996 go, right?! Personal Shopping Appointments: We'll meet at the first location at your appointment time, and I'll walk you back to the dressing room. I'll have stocked it with up to 20 items that you'll try on. I will keep the dressing room clear of items you don't want and fetch other sizes or styles if needed. While you're wrapping up at one store, I'll run ahead to the next to set up your dressing room. Please wear good undergarments and clothes you can easily get in and out of and shoes that are appropriate for the kind of outfits you'll be trying on. If that includes dresses and skirts, please bring or wear shapewear (if that’s your preference). Be mindful of wearing jewelry that might snag or need to be taken on and off (and potentially lost!) when you're changing. I'll take pictures as we go, and will put pictures of the items you purchase into your digital wardrobe app. We could be shopping for several hours, depending on how many shops we go to, so bring your favorite drink to stay hydrated and a snack if you’re inclined! Here's a checklist to help you have a successful shopping appointment! Download the Shopping Success Checklist before your in-home appointment Complete and return your style assessment. Make sure all of your clothes are at hand. You don't want to go hunting through the laundry basket for your favorite pieces (or worse: they're soggy in the washing machine!). Please make some space for the two of us to work in or near your closet. If you can, create a space where we can hang up outfit ideas (the back of a door is good). Set up a mirror - preferably full-length - nearby so you can see what outfits look like on you. Eat beforehand to keep your energy up, but not so much that you're uncomfortable! I love pets, so you don't need to lock them away unless you think they'll be mischievous. during your appointment It's so helpful if you try on outfits, so please wear undergarments that work well with most outfits (e.g. neutral colors, no sports bras, etc.). If you want privacy while you change, that's fine. If you're comfy in your knickers, that's fine, too! Keep a bottle of water nearby (or anything else you might want to sustain you). after your appointment Use your digital wardrobe and Style Diary to help refine what you're wearing and track how outfits make you feel. Keep shopping your wardrobe! Call or text me at any time if you have ideas, questions, or need support for anything. I also love getting pics that show how you've embraced your new style! tel/text 415.305.6500 email rachel@eugenestylist.com
