Three Ideas to Inspire Your Style This Week
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"It might seem old fashioned to some people, but it’s important for me to be and feel put together."

What we wear is key to how our day is going to go: you don't want to be fussing and fidgeting with your clothes, or be too hot/cold/uncomfortable/impractical, etc. When you travel, this holds even more importance so it's crucial to put more than just a little thought into what you pack. Read about how I put together a capsule wardrobe that let me travel comfortably and stylishly!

CAPSULE WARDROBE: BUSINESS TRAVEL

I recently headed to Tulsa OK for a business trip (if you haven't been, it's quite a lovely city!) and I wanted to see if I could get away with only a carry-on bag for a week.
No big surprise: Yes, I could!
Including what I wore on travel days and a bathing suit, I took 18 pieces of clothing with me and felt like I had plenty of options and variety to choose from, depending on what was going on that particular day and the varying weather. I made sure that everything was mix-and-match, and by going with a fairly neutral palette, I could easily pair each piece with at least two other items and definitely with all three pairs of shoes. This meant I could easily adjust an outfit to work for cold convention center rooms, outdoor social events, and being touristy.
A favorite outfit was the blue dress with the chambray shirt over it (tied at the waist) with white tennies, or maybe it's because that's what I was wearing when they brought puppies out to play.

3 WAYS TO WEAR IT: Blue Gathered-Waist Dress
I picked this dress up at Sip & Seams recently and have fallen in love with it! It fits really well, is comfy but polished, and was great as a travel piece - versatile and didn't need ironing! Here's how I wore with other pieces in the capsule wardrobe.
The chambray shirt and tennies turned a polite dress into something more casual (and puppy-proof). | I wanted to be a little more polished for the closing party so I popped a cream cardigan and shoes on. | This was perfect for wandering around Tulsa when it was warm and sunny but windy. |
ONLY FOUR MORE DAYS UNTIL
WEAR WHATEVER THE F YOU WANT!
There's only a few more days until the premier of Stacy London and Clinton Kelly's new program, Wear Whatever the F You Want on the 29th! I am looking into maybe hosting an online watch party through Amazon Prime (you shouldn't need a subscription) so watch my IG page for more info closer to Tuesday!
