Ideas to Inspire Your Style This Week!
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I do NOT pack light! I never know if I'm going to be in a
pink mood or a blue mood."
The lovely lady who said this was known for taking two giant suitcases for a 5 day trip. She really decided that her life was easier if she just took most of her clothes with her when she traveled. While it meant she had to lug two heavy cases everywhere, I was kind of impressed that she found what worked for her. She obviously thought that the hassle of baggage was worth having all her options available to her, even if it were for just a quick business trip. Props to her - she always looked great and comfortable in her outfits, so I guess it was all worth it!

SPRING/SUMMER 2026 TREND REPORT
It's the first day of Spring and time for the Spring/Summer 2026 trend report! This season, fashion feels expressive, feminine, and beautifully intentional. There is a strong sense of contrast running throughout: structure vs. softness, polish vs. movement, and statement pieces that still feel wearable. Sculpted silhouettes bring shape and presence, leather adds strength and polish, and plaid is reimagined with a more modern edge. At the same time, florals return with a more elevated spirit, while fringe, feathers, transparency, and ruffles bring movement, lightness, and emotion to the wardrobe. The overall mood feels polished but never rigid, sensual but still refined, with pieces that allow personality to come through in a very natural way. Here's how all of that plays out.
Sculpted Motion: This season, shape becomes part of the story. You will see silhouettes that define the waist, curve around the body, or create movement through drape and structure, giving outfits a more intentional and feminine feel. The effect is polished and expressive at once, offering a beautiful way to bring more presence and refinement to your wardrobe.
Leather Everything: Leather expands far beyond the classic jacket this season, showing up in skirts, dresses, trenches, and statement separates that feel sleek, strong, and surprisingly versatile. Whether worn in soft neutrals, rich browns, or deeper shades, it adds instant edge and polish while still feeling elevated enough for day-to-evening dressing.
Floral Renaissance: Florals return with a richer and more elevated spirit this season. Instead of feeling overly sweet or expected, they appear in bolder scales, more artistic prints, and more expressive color stories that bring freshness, romance, and personality to the wardrobe. It is a beautiful way to embrace femininity while still keeping your look modern.
Modern Plaid: Plaid feels sharper and more fashion-forward for Spring 2026. This season, it moves away from anything too traditional and instead feels cleaner, more styled, and easier to wear through matching sets, statement layers, and unexpected pairings. It brings structure and character to a look while still feeling current and approachable.
Fringe Forward: Fringe becomes one of the season’s most expressive details, bringing movement, texture, and energy to even the simplest silhouette. Whether it appears on dresses, skirts, tops, or accessories, it gives a look a sense of motion and personality, making it a beautiful choice if you want your outfit to feel more alive and intentional.
Feathered Fantasy: Feathers bring softness, fantasy, and a touch of drama to Spring 2026. This season, they feel less costume-like and more wearable, often used as delicate accents or statement finishes that instantly elevate a look. They add lightness, texture, and a sense of occasion, even when the rest of the outfit stays simple.
Sensual Transparency: Transparency continues this season in a way that feels softer and more refined than overtly revealing. Sheer layers, lace details, and translucent fabrics are used to create depth, lightness, and subtle sensuality, allowing you to show a little while still feeling elegant and styled. It is a trend that works especially well when balanced with stronger pieces or clean layering underneath.
Ruffled Rebellion: Ruffles return with more attitude this season. Rather than feeling overly precious, they are used in ways that bring volume, movement, and a slightly undone romantic edge to blouses, dresses, and skirts. The result feels feminine but not delicate, offering a beautiful balance of softness and personality.
For the Gents: Spring 2026 menswear highlights a softer and more relaxed approach to classic dressing. Tailoring feels lighter and less rigid, with fluid shapes and easy layering bringing a new sense of movement to familiar staples. Checks and stripes emerge as key patterns of the season, reinforcing a modern preppy mood that feels polished without looking too formal. Shorts also take on a stronger fashion presence, cut with more volume and intention for an updated warm-weather silhouette. Overall, the season is defined by ease: timeless menswear pieces, refreshed through relaxed proportions, lighter fabrics, and styling that feels personal, effortless, and modern.
Color also plays a key role this season: soft neutrals, creamy whites, blush tones, and earthy muted shades create a beautiful foundation, while vibrant accents like red, orange, cobalt blue, pistachio green, emerald, and vivid pink bring energy and life to the looks.
TL;DR: Spring/Summer 2026 offers a wardrobe that feels confident, expressive, and full of possibility, opening the door to new ways of dressing that feel both elevated and deeply personal. I hope you have fun incorporating any of these into your own wardrobe!
ANATOMY OF AN OUTFIT
This is a peek into my favorite outfit of the week where I break it down for you: why I've put it together and why it works, what elements could be swapped out, things to consider, etc.
I was so excited for the couple of glorious days we had this week and figured a blue-sky day needed a blue outfit. From top to bottom, I pulled various shades, textures, and prints to create an all-blue (but not quite monochrome) outfit that fit the variable temps throughout the day. I started with a blue striped button front shirt and popped a 3/4 sleeve navy cardigan over it. I rolled the cuffs of the shirt up over the cardigan sleeves to tidy up their conflicting lengths. I visually elongated my legs two ways: I've French-tucked the blouse to raise the line of where my legs start, and by pairing dark blue jeans with blue suede booties, the lack of break in color draws the eye down without interruption. Jewelry details like London blue topaz earrings, a substantial lapis lazuli bead necklace, a navy watch band, and a faux London blue topaz ring added sparkle and some variety to the hue.
