Three Ideas to Inspire Your Style This Week
QUOTE OF THE WEEK
"I've finally realized I don’t need to be trendy all the time! I can ignore the ones that don't work for me, and I wear a previous trend whenever I want. "

It's pretty liberating to find yourself at an age where there's no peer pressure to follow trends. When you consider that Shein puts out 1.3 MILLION new styles - STYLES, not pieces - a year, how on earth are you supposed to keep up?! Plus you know that what's trendy at one point will always come back, like this season's sculptural silhouettes and kitten heels. If you buy pieces you actually like and that suit you, you just wear them whether they're trendy or not.

POP UP CONSIGNMENT SHOP: SIP & SEAMS!

I mentioned last week that the Sip & Seams pop-up consignment event is running for two weekends, so you've got another chance to grab amazing deals on some wonderful pieces this Friday through Sunday.
Buying gently-used clothing provides a positive environmental impact and contributes to a longer circular lifecycle of garments that still have a lot of life in them. Best of all, you're doing good and supporting your community as unsold clothing will be donated to Looking Glass Community Services. Everyone wins - especially your style!

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR APRIL 29 AND
WEAR WHATEVER THE F YOU WANT!!

Stacy and Clinton are coming back! Their new program, Wear Whatever the F You Want, is a new take on their timeless style advice. It premiers on April 29 (Amazon Prime) and I am so excited! Their approach to personal style has evolved and it sounds like they'll have more creative control than they did on What Not To Wear. I loved that show but they admitted that a lot of their content was directed by the producers. This description of WWTFYW says a lot:
With a fresh perspective that celebrates personal expression over outdated style rules, they empower individuals to live out their fashion fantasies and discover their style truth.
It's something I hold with utmost importance for my clients, and I'm thrilled they're embracing authenticity over ratings.
3 WAYS TO WEAR IT: Leopard Print Blouse
I surprised myself just by trying this on, let alone buying it! I've never really been one for animal prints so I was stunned to find a piece that I'm comfortable wearing. Yes, we're all encouraged to get out of our comfort zone but only do it if it helps you discover a little piece of yourself that you didn't know you had, not if it makes you feel like someone else. The trick with a bold print like this is to wear it with colors and accessories that complement and coordinate with it, even bold ones, and in uncomplicated silhouettes.
This is so basic but effortlessly elegant with a knee-length pencil skirt and knee-high black boots (plus it's very comfy!) | The print becomes a neutral when paired with black jeans and bone slides, so I throw a saffron yellow cardigan on top for a pop. | The cream of the skirt tones down the blouse's print, and the patent belt at the waist ties in with the patent shoes. |
